Can a Road Trip Change Your Life?…

Close your eyes and imagine you are going to drive across country and take 30 days to do so…and you get to pick one person to do that with – who would it be?  Would your criteria be someone who is a good navigator and could get you where you want to go?  Would it be someone who is good with an agenda and would take you to the places that you planned on going?  Or would it be someone who throws the directions out the window, gets rid of the agenda and gets you where you need to be – to help you become more of who you really are.  Take a moment, and think about who that would be…and why you made that choice.

When you dance, your purpose is not to get to a certain place on the floor. It’s to enjoy each step along the way.

My co-pilot would be the person I started this journey with 14 years ago, and the person who I walk this journey with to this day, Dr. Wayne Dyer. (And if you are wondering, yes – the quote above – is his.)  Now, my “why” might not be what you think, but we will get to that later.  Wayne Dyer has written over 20 books, and a movie – The Shift.  He has become as synonymous with Hay House as he has with PBS specials, where you are able to get boat loads of incredibly inspiring information, while contributing back.   If I were to summarize his work into one message, it would be his quote:

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

I believe there is a certain magic that happens when you are reading a book; and at some point you stop, put the book down, and think about your own life.  Truly great authors or speakers connect with us and give us the opportunity to look at life in a different way, and maybe give it a new perspective or meaning.  And the impact isn’t just in future events, when our perspective changes, it also transforms our beliefs about our past and our memories.

To have a different life it isn’t about what you want when it comes to manifesting your desires, it’s about who you are. That is the vibration you exude every moment of every day.  And that vibration – whatever that may be – is what you will attract more of, without consciously thinking about it for a second.  Considering this is, sort of, the mantra of Wayne Dyer – you may think that this is why I would choose him to sit next to me as we cruise past the corn fields of Iowa…aah but not so fast.  His next quote is my “why”….

The highest form of ignorance is when you reject something you don’t know anything about.

You see, Wayne Dyer is 74 years old, and gets just as fired up about new ideas and new people as he did 50 years ago!  He is truly someone who greets each day with gratitude and awe.  If you have heard him speak lately, you would know that he is joining a huge movement in bringing awareness to the “food” we eat and the impact of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO’s) and the large corporations that play a big part in this country’s state of health (or lack of it.)  He truly inspires me to stay inspired. I know our road trip would be filled with new perspectives, new ideas and new ways of thinking.  And isn’t that what life is all about!?

Wayne Dyer is the key note speaker Friday night at the Hay House I Can Do It! Conference  on October 24th in Pasadena, CA. I hope you can join me there live, or join us from your home, as the conference can be live-streamed to your living room.  (Click below to learn more or to sign up!)
