(Disclaimer, I am not a medical doctor, and this is not intended to be read as medical advice – this is merely an opinion you are reading in a blog.)
I am going to start this by saying, there WILL be people offended about what I’m about to write. In fact, I personally know people that will feel this is an attack on their integrity, their beliefs, and what they say they believe. That said, let’s get started…
It is my belief that your life (health, wealth, career, relationships, etc.) is as easy or as complicated as you choose to make it. Now if you are in ill health, or bankrupt, there will be a few additional steps you need to take. But this simple truth is, the basics of what you need to do, just isn’t complicated.
Here’s the reality; you will need to take a good look at your beliefs that are shaping the decisions you are making. For many, it’s easier to say “It’s complicated.” I realize to get really honest with yourself, may mean your whole life will need to have a bulldozer run through it. And that just doesn’t sound appealing. (Here’s the offensive part): If you have ANY attraction to buying or selling a pill that will make you lose 20 pounds without changing your diet, or having the need to actually get off the couch and move—I am talking to you. Having heart disease, cancer, or diabetes—yet being happy that you are at least thin, is lunacy to me! The problem is NOT the lack of a pill. The problem is the decision making that got you there in the first place. And if those beliefs and decisions aren’t changed, they will simply play out in another area of your life and body, in due time. (And yes… we can all count on your next malady having a pill to deal with that too.)
In my show today I talk to Dr. Kathy Gruver about what true well-being actually is, what it looks like, and how to achieve it, without a magical pill. As I told Kathy, it is beyond rare that I agree with someone across the board regarding wellness, so I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did. Take this 30 minutes on The Game Changer Podcast and reconsider what well-being looks like to you. Change what you believe, and you will change your life. Final advice: turn the television off, do not call your doctor to see if the “purple pill” is for you… it’s not. Your health does not reside within a pill. You, your well-being, and your life, are worth more than that.
