It’s Never Too Late to Change the Road You Are On…

Kris Carr 2Crazy Sexy Friday!!!!

Have you ever heard someone’s story, and been so inspired that it stopped you in your tracks and made you reevaluate your own life?  That is how I felt when I learned about Kris Carr.  Her story made me take a good look at the things that have happened in my life and ask myself if I was using every experience- both good and bad- for a calling greater than myself.

Now, I don’t wish 4th Stage cancer upon anyone, (which is what Kris was diagnosed with in 2003)  nor do I believe that it takes that kind of news to turn your life into significant meaning.  But for the people in this world who have faced what seems to be insurmountable challenges, only to use that for a greater good for the rest of us, I am more deeply inspired than words can say.

Since Kris’ cancer diagnosis over a decade ago, she has created a community that is chalk full of inspiring health enthusiasts, through her website  She also has her “Why it matters” book, Crazy Sexy Wellness and her “How to” book Crazy Sexy Kitchen, along with a juicing e-guide and a plethora of videos.  What’s great is that you don’t have to be a vegan or a raw foodist to gain the benefit of her wisdom.  Honestly, I think the only thing more powerful than her green smoothie recipes is her ability to meet you just where you are.  If you have the chance to see her live, or at least live streaming from the conference, you will see what I mean.  Some aspect of you will be able to relate to her and will come away with a different perspective on life and on the control you actually do have to change whatever it is you are currently facing. On a personal note:

When I was in the Air Force, I had a lock of bright pink hair in the exact same place that Kris does.  (Mind you this was nearly 30 years ago.)  And the reason I did was because you were only allowed to have “natural” colored hair.  Following rules that seemed unnecessary or allowing people to tell me what my life, or I would look like, never worked very well for me.  I suppose it hasn’t for Kris either as she continues to write her rule book, regardless of conventional wisdom or what Western Medicine says she should believe.
If you need some inspiration, guidance around the kitchen, or time with a girlfriend that you feel like you have known your entire life, look no further.  Please join me at the Pasadena Hay House I Can Do It! Convention from Oct 24th – 26th and see what I mean!    Or watch from your living room with a green smoothie and it will be just like you are there with us!
